A FIFA foreign transfer recruit’s salary and salary-related fees can rise significantly in the first year of their employment.
The latest FIFA salary figures from 2016 reveal the average FIFA salary is $9.4 million (€8.7 million) and the average salary- related fee is $6.2 million ( €5.3 million).
According to FIFA’s International Transfer Regulations, foreign transfer recruits are required to contribute at least $1.25 million (RM1.2 billion) into the FIFA treasury in order to be eligible for recruitment, and a minimum of $1 million ( RM0.9 million) is required to be included in the salary- Related Fees section of FIFA’s Financial Reporting Manual.
As with any international employment, the foreign exchange salary can be increased or decreased by the FIFA Federation in order for a recruit to become eligible for a foreign transfer contract.

However, FIFA has clarified that the FIFA Salary, Salary Related and Related Fee sections of the FIFA Financial Reports do not require a minimum salary contribution to be contributed.
The FIFA Salary related fee section requires the foreign transfer agent to provide a copy of the fee agreement and a copy or transcript of the foreign player’s salary agreement, together with a statement of the player’s transfer fee and other relevant information.
A FIFA Salary Report and Salary related Fee section requires that the transfer agent provide the FIFA salary information and salary related fees required by the relevant FIFA Regulations.
As per FIFA’s FIFA Salary Regulations, the FIFA FIFA salary guidelines set forth minimum salary contributions, minimum salary related fee contributions and related salary related and related related related fees.
FIFA has not published a salary related rule that specifically states that foreign transfer agents are required by FIFA to provide the required salary information or related fees to foreign transfer candidates.
The Salary Related Fee section of the Financial Reporting manual does not provide any requirements for foreign transfer fees.
